Two years ago this month I reported how some within a town
in California
got a bit upset at a wire framed nude statue. It appears as if some simply don't like the
idea of large statues of nude women.
Now Washington DC is about to host a 45 foot
sculpture of a nude woman that was at the Burning Man Festival and at least one person is rather upset about it. Mr. John Horvat II, scholar, researcher, educator
and defender of the public's virtue, calls such a sculpture "blatantly
obscene" and goes on to say that we are on a path of moral destruction and
history teaches us that nudism always led to the degradation of women and the
end of civilization. I'm assuming that
Mr. Horvat II was born fully clothed and is the result of yet another immaculate
conception that so many of the religious far right seem to present themselves.
While those that spout the grandeur of the
statue are mostly full of hot air, to put it politely, Mr. Horvat II is a
veritable geyser of nonsense.
