Disclaimer: The following are my personal opinions, and do not necessarily reflect the views of Su Casa, or any of it's officers:
As a practicing social nudist in both second and real
life, one of my big concerns is the hi-jacking of the clothing free, or
optional lifestyle. We know in Second Life all you have to do it type in
the search terms, nudism, nudists, nude beach, or clothing optional
and see what comes up.
With
the exception of a very few, and I may be prejudice here, you get the
trash of Second Life. The exceptions are Su Casa, followed closely by Naked Dreams. There are a few borderline that I will not name,
but even some of these have a shady side. It seems the TOS are ignored and these places to continue on as Mature, not Adult rated sims.
For
those of you not familiar with the naturist lifestyle in real life, it
is the same in real life. Social nudity as a clean, wholesome, family oriented lifestyle has been hi-jacked. While I am sure there
more I can give you two real life examples that exist in my home state.
First we come to a place named “Sun Aura”, which at one time was
the premier family nudist resort in the Midwest U.S. After going through
several name, and ownership changes, it went from the original Zorro
Nudist Resort, to the infamous Naked City, now to Sun Aura. I don't have
time, or room here to go into the history, but it was purchased by a
fellow named Dick Drost, now deceased, that was later convicted of
child molestation ( this is a matter of public record). The downhill spiral was set in motion! To their
credit, they do now describe themselves as an adult only resort. You
can visit their web site here, it isn't nudism people is called
“Swinging”.
Next is the Ponderosa, which claims to be a family
resort. Check the resort web site here, looks great huh? Now, check out
their other web site here where they flaunt the once a year T&A
contest they hold called Nudes-a-Poppin.
Contestants are topless
and nude dancers from strip clubs, and the judges are porn stars from X
rated films! Ownership claims the income from this contest holds
membership dues down. As a real nudist I would pay more to keep this
filth from going on! Still want take your kids there for a weekend?
While, the AANR
works hard at trying to distance real social nudism from such
shenanigans, sadly in the eyes of the general pubic, the perception of
mixed gender, family social nudity suffers.
So it seems, sorry to say, nudism has been hi-jacked by the underbelly of society in both lives.
